The following section is provided to help the AED program coordinator maintain compliance through the use of the AEDSafetrack system.

Verify Information

The first time you log into AEDSafetrack.com you should verify the following:

  1. In My Accounts (found on the drop down menu attached to your user name in the upper right corner) please verify profile information.
  2. In My Accounts, under notification settings, please verify correct settings have been chosen. If you choose to receive monthly inspection/verification emails, you will also see an inspection report on your dashboard.
  3. In Locations please verify locations reflect their proper place in your organizational hierarchy. Only the AED program coordinator can change location information. Go to Locations for more information.
  4. In Users please verify all users have been entered into the system. Only the AED program coordinator can access user information. Once the individuals users login, they can verify their profile information. A user can be entered as an AED coordinator or a trained responder. Go to Users for more information.
  5. In AEDs please verify that each AED has a serial number. Also check each AED in View/Edit to verify that expiration dates are correct. While you are verifying dates you will also want to inspect/verify the unit. If other users are responsible for this maintenance, the AED program coordinator has a record of all modifications. Go to Individual AEDs for more information.

Monthly Maintenance

The following should be done every month:

  1. Every AED unit should be inspected/verified each month. In the notification settings in My Account, you can request a monthly email reminder. Choose the day of the month you would like to receive this email. A monthly maintenance guide is available in the Resources guide found on the vertical navigation bar on your dashboard. If the AED manufacturer recommends this monthly maintenance, it must be completed in order to be indemnified by the manufacturer. Go to Individual AEDs for more information on inspecting individual AEDS. If you have multiple AEDs that need inspection go to Multiple AEDs
  2. Check your battery and electrode reports on the dashboard. If accessories are expiring you can order replacements from the report by clicking on View or from View/Edit on the individual AED. Go to Purchasing for more information.
  3. Check your trained responder report on the dashboard. If there are responders whose certification is expiring in 90 days or less you can request training through Cardiac Life Products. Go to Reports for more information.

Updating Replacement Accessories

When you receive your replacement accessories, update the information for each AED. Email notification is based on the expiration dates so you must keep the information current.

  1. Update battery purchase, insert, and expiration dates for the Individual AEDs on View/Edit or for Multiple AEDs from Apply. For Cardiac Science and Philips AEDS, battery expiration dates are not on the battery or package. The expiration dates for these batteries are determined by the insert date. The system will automatically input the expiration date from the insert date.
  2. Update electrode expiration/use by dates for the Individual AEDs on View/Edit or for Multiple AEDs from Apply.
