Covid 19 Update

1. At Cardiac Life we understand what a challenging time this is for you and your organization. All of us hope you are safe and taking the necessary precautions to stay healthy!

Please be assured that being unable to inspect or log a regular AED inspection due to building closure will not negatively affect the compliance of your PAD program or validity of a warranty or indemnification. Upon return to your PAD location, an inspection can be performed and logged.

Notifications received from AEDSafetrack in the meantime can be ignored or turned off by the organization administrator by clicking your name in the top right corner and then “My Account” under the Notifications tab. Please feel free to contact us by email or phone Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm or Fri 8am-2pm EST: services@cardiaclife.net or 585-286-3811

2. Interim Guidance from the American Heart Association, and ongoing AED/CPR & First Aid (re)certification:

*As of April 1, 2020 The American Heart Association has extended the March 2020 expiration dates of Instructor and Provider eCard certifications for 120 days. While this is great news - if your certification expired before March 2020, your certification has not been extended!

*In addition to adhering to CDC and WHO recommendations, as well as state instructions, Cardiac Life instructors are adhering to all American Heart Association guidance as outlined here.

We are actively offering AHA blended online AED/CPR and BLS training, in which an online key provides access to the AHA course curriculum for each student/staff member. The online course can be completed, and referenced, from any internet-ready PC and does not need to be completed at one time.

Once the online course is completed, an onsite skills evaluation is scheduled with an instructor to complete the certification by ensuring that students/staff can each appropriately execute the steps of a rescue as outlined in the curriculum.

These evaluations can be done safely for up to (3) people at time with appropriate spacing and sanitization procedures (as outlined by the AHA above). Alternatively, these appointments can be held for scheduling upon re-opening of businesses or buildings at the discretion of your organization.

A refresher video of the AHA curriculum, a self-quiz, and step-by-step AED/CPR procedures can be found under the “Resources” tab in your AEDSafetrack account at www.aedsafetrack.com at any time.

For additional information on how to maintain a current AED/CPR certification, please feel free to contact us Mon-Fri 8am-5pm or Fri 8am-2pm EST by email or phone: services@cardiaclife.net or 585-286-3811.
